Two Friends Skateboard 310 Miles for a Worthy Cause!

In an incredible display of determination and heart, two lifelong friends have successfully skateboarded an impressive 310 miles (500km) from the UK to the Netherlands as part of a charity fundraising challenge. Charlie Hutchings-Sait and Dan Lee embarked on this ambitious journey, setting off from central London and traveling through Kent, northern France, and Belgium, arriving in Amsterdam just two days later.

Making a Difference for Charities

The duo, hailing from New Milton and Southbourne, has raised over £3,000 for several important charities, including the Alzheimer's Society, Macmillan Cancer Support, and the road safety charity Brake. Both friends, now 30 and business partners in marine components manufacturing, have been skateboarding since the age of eight, which speaks volumes about their commitment and passion for this sport.

Personal Challenges and Triumphs

During their week-long effort, Hutchings-Sait and Lee averaged 30 to 35 miles a day, camping each night along their route. Despite experiencing physical exhaustion, Lee expressed their satisfaction with the journey, stating, "We're extremely emotional, tired and achy but overall very happy with ourselves and what we have achieved." Their perseverance for a noble cause truly shines through their words.

Encounters Along the Way

As they navigated the challenging terrains, the pair encountered not only physical obstacles but also met numerous supportive individuals who admired their efforts. "We've met some great people," Hutchings-Sait noted, reflecting on the interactions that added to their memorable experience. This adventure has not only helped them connect with others but also raised awareness for critical social issues affecting many people today.

This remarkable journey is a testament to the power of friendship and the impact one can make through dedication and hard work. As they finish their challenge, Hutchings-Sait and Lee serve as an inspiring reminder of how individuals can come together to support important causes, and how true friendship can fuel amazing accomplishments.
