Mary Sharp, a courageous woman who endured a traumatic experience nearly three decades ago, is now using her story to inspire others to report incidents of sexual abuse and violence. Mary was only 20 years old when she faced a horrific assault by her then-boyfriend. For years, she felt trapped by fear and shame, believing that she was to blame for the violence she suffered. After a long and arduous five-year journey through the legal system, Mary was finally able to see her attacker, Martin Butler, convicted in April 2023.
