Surprising Results from Ice Cream Taste Test: Budget vs. Premium
As summer approaches and people look for refreshing ways to beat the heat, one enthusiastic food reviewer has uncovered some fascinating insights into the world of ice cream. Becca, who runs the popular social media account 'BeccaEatsEverything', recently conducted a taste test comparing three vanilla ice creams at different price points: budget, mid-range, and premium. The results might just change how you approach your summer treats.
The Budget Option Shines
To kick off her taste test, Becca chose a £1.35 two-litre tub of Ms Molly's soft scoop vanilla ice cream. To her delight, she found this budget-friendly ice cream to have a creamy texture and pleasant sweetness. Despite melting quickly, she rated it an impressive eight out of ten, highlighting it as a great value product. "I've had some terrible ice cream, and actually, the texture and the flavour of this is pretty good," she remarked.
The Mid-Range Contender
Next up was Mackie's of Scotland Traditional Real Dairy Ice Cream, priced at £3.60 for one litre. Becca initially assumed it was a vanilla-flavored option, only to discover it featured a rich milk flavor. While she noted that the texture was not the richest she had encountered, she found it to provide good value, ultimately giving it a score of eight and a half out of ten.
The Premium Experience
Finally, Becca tested the most expensive option—Marshfield Farm Real Dairy Ice Cream, costing £8.10 per litre. She noted the presence of vanilla specks, which hinted at a high-quality product. Despite her preference for a stronger vanilla flavor, the ice cream's luxurious texture and melting quality earned it a remarkable score of nine out of ten. Becca concluded, "You really can taste the difference," underscoring that sometimes a bit of extra investment yields better quality.
This taste test highlights that while premium ice creams may offer superior quality, the budget-friendly options can still hold their own. As we gear up for sunny days, this review serves as a reminder that delightful summer treats do not always come with a hefty price tag.
