This accolade not only highlights the quality of care provided but also places Solihull among the top five local authorities in the country.
A Detailed Assessment by the CQC
The Care Quality Commission, mandated to evaluate local authorities' collaborations with communities and partners, conducted a thorough assessment of Solihull's services. The evaluation took place last year, culminating in an onsite inspection in November. The results, published on March 18, reveal that Solihull received an impressive score of 84 percent.
Strengths Identified in the Report
The CQC’s inspection focused on nine quality areas, awarding a ‘good’ rating to several key aspects, including the assessment of people’s needs and the provision of safe care. Particularly commendable were the areas of equity in outcomes, community partnerships, and governance, which received outstanding ratings. This recognition underscores the council's strong collaboration with local voluntary and charity organizations, enhancing the support extended to the residents.
Leadership Praised for Vision and Dedication
Chris Badger, the chief inspector of adult social care, emphasized the exceptional leadership within Solihull Council. He noted the importance of valuing staff, which ultimately leads to positive outcomes for local residents. The CQC specifically highlighted the impact of Solihull’s early help and prevention work, indicating that the council’s support for unpaid caregivers was particularly noteworthy.
