The spirit of community and kindness is set to be celebrated once again in Colchester with the launch of the annual Good Neighbour Awards 2026. Organized by Colchester Borough Homes, these awards aim to recognize and honor the unsung heroes who contribute positively to the lives of others through simple yet impactful everyday actions.

Categories and Nominations

This year, awards will be presented in several categories, including Community Champion, Older Persons Champion, Good Neighbour Award, Younger Persons Champion, Home Carer Award, and Best Garden Award. Nominations are currently open, allowing residents to nominate individuals or groups who have had a significant impact on their community. Winners will not only receive £100 in vouchers but will also be celebrated at a special ceremony later this year.
