Rock City in Nottingham has received a prestigious Judges’ Recognition Award from Best Bar None, highlighting its commitment to customer welfare. This award is a testament to the venue's outstanding efforts in ensuring safety, customer service, and responsible alcohol management during events.
A Commitment to Safety
As the flagship venue of DHP Family, Rock City boasts a rich history, hosting around 100 gigs annually alongside various events. The club has implemented a dedicated welfare team, whose primary role is to ensure that patrons feel safe and supported during their visits. This initiative began as part of the Drink Aware Club Crew program and evolved after Covid-19 to include a full welfare team of eight staff members.
Innovative Support Systems
The welfare team operates a permanent welfare desk and conducts regular patrols during club nights, looking out for vulnerable or intoxicated customers. They assist individuals in reuniting with friends, charging phones, providing water, and arranging safe transport home, while also collaborating closely with medical staff during emergencies.

Nottingham has maintained its Purple Flag status for 15 consecutive years, an accolade signifying a commitment to safety and a vibrant night-time economy. The recognition of Rock City's welfare initiatives is expected to further enhance Nottingham's reputation as one of the UK's safest and most welcoming nightlife destinations.
