In an inspiring tale of following one's dreams, Erin Sophie-Halliday, at just 22, is set to grace the stage of Norwich Theatre Royal, where her passion for performing began at the tender age of seven. This summer, she will be part of the ensemble and also serve as an understudy for the lead role in the beloved musical, Mamma Mia, which runs from June 30 for two weeks.
A Journey from Audience to Performer

"It all feels very surreal," she shared, reflecting on her transition from audience member to performer. "I am so excited to come home and for my family to see me on stage."
The Audition That Changed Everything
Her journey took a pivotal turn when her university nominated her for an audition that she attended in March 2025. "I was pretty excited," Erin admitted about her first professional audition. Receiving the news of her casting in July of that year was a milestone moment, affirming her dedication and hard work.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Now rehearsing for the production since October 2025, Erin hopes to inspire others who dream of a career in the performing arts. "I want to inspire anyone else watching the show to chase their dreams," she stated passionately. With previous performances in productions like the Parent Agency at Storyhouse and a pantomime at Richmond Theatre, Erin is on a promising path in her career.
