Liverpool Olympia Launches New Community Initiative to Uplift Local Culture

The Liverpool Olympia recently marked a significant milestone with the official launch of its Community Interest Company (CIC) status, bringing a wave of enthusiasm and engagement to the local community. The event featured local schoolchildren from New Park and Whitefield Primary Schools, who were treated to a captivating open morning filled with entertainment and discovery.

A Magical Morning for Students

Around 100 pupils enjoyed a circus magic show led by local entertainer Mike Stuart, embracing the historical significance of the venue. The children were also introduced to Noo Noo, an animatronic elephant, adding an element of fun and wonder to the day. With access to the Grade II* listed Olympia, guests also had the opportunity to explore its historical underground Elephant Pit, which is currently undergoing restoration.

As a newly formed CIC, Liverpool Olympia is focused on fostering opportunities for local residents, enhancing access to community arts, education, training, and engagement. The managing director, Chris Zorba, expressed the excitement surrounding this new phase, emphasizing the importance of the Olympia as a cultural hub that serves the entirety of Liverpool, particularly communities in the L6 area.
