Join the Global Movement: Celebrating 20 Years of Good Deeds Day

This March 10, millions worldwide will come together to spread kindness and make a tangible difference in their communities during Good Deeds Day (GDD). With origins rooted in a vision by businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison, GDD has grown into a global phenomenon that unites people from diverse backgrounds under the motto “United in Good.”

A Global Tradition of Kindness

For two decades, Good Deeds Day has motivated individuals in 115 countries to participate in community projects and volunteer opportunities. This year marks a significant milestone as GDD celebrates 20 years of impactful initiatives. Shari Arison's inspiration for GDD reflects her belief in the power of good people and organizations to effect change: “I think when the circles of good, the circles of love, will grow, we'll see a better world for all of us.”

Celebrating Togetherness and Community

In honor of its anniversary, GDD will launch new "Good Deeds Trails" throughout Israel, in collaboration with local authorities. These trails will highlight social initiatives and offer participants hands-on experiences in volunteering, connecting individuals with meaningful projects that foster community engagement.

This year's events hold special significance as they coincide with Ramadan within Israel’s Arab sector, where numerous activities will further promote the values of giving and collective responsibility. Rafi Elul, Chairman of Ruach Tova of the Arison Group, emphasizes the importance of this initiative in bridging divides, stating, “We are proud to see how this initiative connects all factions of Israeli society.”

Ways to Get Involved

Volunteers can engage in a myriad of activities, from community dialogue sessions and workshops to outdoor cleanups and preparations of thank-you baskets for servicemen. GDD encourages participation at local levels, inviting individuals to select initiatives that resonate with them. A commitment to volunteering on Good Deeds Day promises not only to uplift others but also to create a more compassionate global community.

As Good Deeds Day approaches, individuals are encouraged to register on the GDD website, choose their preferred way to contribute, and be part of a worldwide movement dedicated to kindness and altruism. After all, every act of kindness—no matter how small—plays a vital role in shaping a better world.
