Join the Community Celebration at the 5th Annual Big Guitar-In Fundraiser!

On the upcoming Thursday, December 11, 2025, the much-anticipated Big Guitar-In Fundraiser returns for its fifth iteration, bringing together music lovers and community members for an inspiring night of collective creativity and support. This year, the event aims to raise essential funds to sustain The Florrie’s Free Community classes, ensuring that hundreds of aspiring guitarists can join in a memorable performance at Mountford Hall.

Breaking Records and Building Connections

The Big Guitar-In has already made waves in the community by setting impressive records, with last year's event featuring 602 guitarists strumming in harmony. This year, the goal is to surpass that milestone, with an ambitious target of 603 participants. This event is not just about the music; it’s a celebration of community strength and resilience, especially in light of pressing challenges such as rising utility costs and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

A Festival of Local Talent

Mountford Hall, a venue with a rich history of hosting legends like Queen and Elvis Costello, will serve as the backdrop for this year's event. Spotlighting Liverpool’s emerging young talent, performers such as Ellis Murphy, Louis Gibney, and Olga Fitz will take the stage alongside established favorites. Additionally, the renowned 601 ½ Choir, led by John Finnigan, will add to the evening’s magic, bringing together voices from across the community.

Inclusivity at Its Core

True to The Florrie’s spirit, the Big Guitar-In is dedicated to inclusivity. Musicians of all levels, from seasoned professionals to beginners, are encouraged to participate in this communal experience. The Florrie Guitar Group meets every Tuesday, providing a welcoming environment for all who wish to learn and grow in their musical journey.

Those interested in witnessing the celebration can purchase tickets to enjoy the electric atmosphere, while members of the community who want to contribute can also make donations to support The Florrie’s vital classes. With the urgency of rising demands for social support, this event aims to strengthen community ties while fostering a love for music.
