A public consultation in Jersey aimed at making it easier for individuals to have harmful online content removed has been deemed a significant success. The initiative, championed by Deputy Moz Scott, Assistant Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, highlights the commitment to enhancing online safety for islanders. The eight-week consultation witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 80% of participants supporting the proposal for a statutory right to request the removal of illegal online content. Notably, the consultation received contributions from diverse demographics, including insights from more than 100 young people through the School Council Network.
