Isle of Wight's Sausage and Cider Festival Promises a Day of Family Fun and Entertainment
The Isle of Wight is set to come alive with the return of the much-anticipated Sausage and Cider Festival on July 4. This popular event promises a delightful full day of entertainment tailored for families and food enthusiasts alike.
Delicious Offerings and Entertainment
Festival-goers can expect an impressive selection of over 30 cider flavors, craft beer, and a variety of more than 20 sausage types — including vegetarian and cheese options. Additionally, a lively market will be present, showcasing local independent food vendors. This bustling atmosphere will be amplified by on-stage sausage-eating competitions and headline DJ sets, featuring Mathew Horne, known for his role in Gavin and Stacey.
A Family-Friendly Experience
The festival is designed with families in mind, providing a dedicated children’s stage complete with a disco, live entertainers, face painting, and opportunities for character dress-ups. Children under five can attend for free, making it an accessible and enjoyable outing for families with young kids. Grace Jones, the festival’s marketing manager, shares, “It's a feel-good event with great music, a huge variety of cider flavors, and great independent food operators.”
Event Details
Running from 12 pm to 10 pm, the festival will require that under 18s must be accompanied by someone over the age of 21. This ensures a safe environment while keeping the festivities family-oriented.
