Inverclyde Whisky Festival: A Toast to Success and Community Spirit
The recent Inverclyde Whisky Festival has set a benchmark for local events, showcasing not only a delightful array of whiskies but also an incredible sense of community. Organized by Inverkip businessman Ryan McKellar, the festival was a resounding success, attracting around 450 guests to the Tontine Hotel for a weekend of merriment.
A Celebration of Whiskies and Craftsmanship
With nearly 30 exhibitors present, festival-goers had the unique opportunity to sample 150 different drams. This year marked the introduction of masterclasses featuring local distilleries, Unkiltered Spirits and Turntable Spirits, providing participants with an intimately crafted experience. Attendees were able to not only taste exclusive offerings but also engage with producers to learn more about the artistry behind whisky-making.
Positive Feedback and Future Prospects
Ryan McKellar expressed his satisfaction with the event's outcomes, noting that the feedback he received was overwhelmingly positive. "We tried to improve on last year," he stated, highlighting the success of this year's initiatives. The joy and vibrancy of the festival were evident, with many guests leaving the venue cheerfully as the evening progressed.
Looking Ahead: Plans for Next Year
Building on this year's success, McKellar has already planned for the next Inverclyde Whisky Festival, set for the last Saturday of January 2027. Additionally, he is actively participating in the upcoming Inverclyde Gin and Spirit Festival, further solidifying the region's reputation as a hub for spirits enthusiasts.
This festival not only celebrated whisky but also fostered community engagement, bringing people together in appreciation of local craftsmanship. As we reflect on the festivities, it's clear that events like these play a crucial role in enriching the social fabric of our communities.
