Inspiring Success: RIT's Empowering Workshops and Celebrated Leaders

This spring, the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is offering a unique opportunity for its community with three engaging workshops led by Minett Professor Krystle Ellis. As the executive director of the Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley and a successful consultant, Ellis, an RIT alumna, is dedicated to empowering students, faculty, and staff through her sessions focused on navigating conflict, executing personal visions, and exploring entrepreneurship.

Workshops Designed for Growth

The workshops are tailored to foster personal and professional growth, and registration is open for all interested participants. The first workshop, titled "Loving Conflict," encourages attendees to approach conflict with curiosity, promoting a healthier perspective on interpersonal challenges. Scheduled for February 24th, this session will be held at the MOSAIC Center.

Following this, the second workshop, "So What’s Next for Me?" on March 24th, will delve into how individuals can realize and execute the visions they hold for their futures, while the final workshop on April 29th, "Is Entrepreneurship Really for Me?" promises valuable insights for those considering the entrepreneurial path.

Celebrating Contributions to Community

In addition to the workshops, RIT is proud to celebrate the achievements of its community members. Taj Smith, a prominent figure in diversity leadership, will be honored at Xavier University for his significant contributions to the Black campus community. His dedication continues to resonate through his recent appointments, including a new role on RIT's University Advisory Committee and his position with the Pittsford School District's Planning Team, focusing on inclusive education.

Acknowledging Change and Growth

Furthermore, RIT bids farewell to Alexandria Collins, whose five years of dedicated service as assistant director for Engagement and Student Success have set a commendable standard. As she transitions to a new role as a school counselor with the Greece Central School District, her legacy of support for students at RIT will undoubtedly inspire others.

These initiatives and recognitions not only highlight the commitment of RIT to nurturing talent and diversity but also reflect the institution's broader impact on educational and community advancement.
