Among those featured is Jonathan Brough, who, despite being left paralyzed from the neck down due to the disease, expresses joy and fulfillment at being part of this impactful event.

Jonathan, who contracted meningitis during his gap year as a ski instructor in Canada, is a testament to perseverance. At just 18 years old, he faced significant health challenges but has since found purpose through the support of Meningitis Now. His journey includes participating in boccia, a precision sport adapted for athletes with severe disabilities. "I feel really good about myself for pushing through," Brough shares, encapsulating the spirit of the exhibition.

Honoring Those Who Have Made a Difference

The exhibition not only highlights personal stories but also honors the community efforts surrounding meningitis awareness and research. Michelle Bresnahan, one of the featured individuals, established a charity in memory of her son Ryan, who tragically lost his life to meningitis at just 16 years old. Her initiative, A Life for a Cure, has successfully raised over £610,000 for research, demonstrating how loss can inspire action and hope.

Tom Nutt, CEO of Meningitis Now, emphasizes that while progress has been made—reporting a significant decrease in cases over the past four decades—there is still much work to be done.
