Groundbreaking Family Services Hub Launched to Help Children Thrive
In a significant step towards enhancing early childhood education and family support, Education Minister Bridget Phillipson recently inaugurated the Best Start Hub in Bury. This initiative aims to provide essential services and resources that will prepare young children for school and build a strong foundation for their future.
A Commitment to Early Development
During her visit to the Best Start Hub located in Chesham Fold, Minister Phillipson emphasized the government's dedication to ensuring that every child in the country receives the best possible start in life. "I firmly believe that children growing up in our country deserve the best start in life and nothing less," she stated, underlining the importance of this initiative.
Investment in Community Support
The launch of the Best Start Family Hubs across the UK is backed by substantial taxpayer funding, with Bury receiving £137,208 to support this vital program. Local MP James Frith expressed his approval of the investment, acknowledging the pressing need for support in the community, particularly as over a third of children in Bury North are affected by poverty.
Transforming Lives Through Support
Minister Phillipson articulated the government's goal to break the connection between a child's background and their potential achievements. The Best Start Family Hubs are designed to lay the groundwork for better life chances, providing families with crucial early support. "I saw firsthand how initiatives like Sure Start helped level the playing field, transforming the lives of children," she said, reinforcing the historical significance of such programs.
The Best Start Hub's opening marks a hopeful chapter for families in Bury, reflecting a broader commitment to enhancing child development and supporting parents. As these initiatives take root, they promise to uplift communities and foster environments where children can thrive.
