Groundbreaking Awards Celebrate Excellence in the UK Offshore Energy Sector

On March 19, 2026, the Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) recognized outstanding companies devoted to enhancing business relationships within the energy supply chain at their annual event held at Aberdeen’s P&J Live venue. This prestigious occasion, dubbed the Share Fair, brought together around 600 participants to explore collaborative opportunities for future projects in the UK’s energy landscape.

Celebrating Collaborative Efforts

During the event, the Supply Chain Principles awards were presented, acknowledging the exemplary performance of clients who have demonstrated a strong commitment to best practices in procurement. One notable highlight from this year was the significant increase in companies receiving gold awards, with a remarkable count of 15 purchasing entities being honored. These include major players such as Adura Energy, Centrica Energy Storage, and TotalEnergies, recognized for their dedication to fostering an environment of cooperation and fair dealings.

A Commitment to Better Practices

Katy Heidenreich, OEUK’s supply chain and people director, emphasized that the sentiments reflected in the biennial ‘Working as One’ survey have led to improving procurement practices across the industry. The gold award winners have shown excellence in crucial areas such as pre-tender engagement and transparency, which pave the way for sustained partnerships and more resilient supply chains.

An Encouraging Trend

The director of New Ventures at the North Sea Transition Authority, Andy Brooks, noted a threefold increase in the number of companies receiving gold awards over the last three years. This trend signifies a growing recognition within the industry of the importance of collaborative behavior and effective procurement practices. The Silver and Bronze award categories also showcased deserving companies like bp, EXCEED, and Peterson UK, further emphasizing a collective move towards excellence within the sector.

This year’s awards are not just an acknowledgment of past achievements, but also a call to action for the energy sector to continue fostering relationships that enable sustainable energy development. The upcoming 2026 Supply Chain Report will detail these key findings, offering insights into areas for improvement and validating the hard work of many involved in powering the UK with homegrown energy.
