Strengthening the EV Charging Infrastructure
Under the leadership of CEO Daniel Kunkel, GRIDSERVE has undertaken essential investments aimed at enhancing charging speed and network resilience. With over 1,600 ultra-rapid charging bays operating across more than 200 locations on the UK's strategic roadways, GRIDSERVE is solidifying its commitment to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging solutions. Plans are already in place for further expansion, including the installation of 500+ ultra-rapid charge points in the coming year.
Support from Long-Term Investors
Backed by seasoned investors such as TPG Rise Climate and Infracapital, GRIDSERVE is poised for continued growth as it aligns itself with the government's ambitions for the UK’s clean transport network. “This strong set of results demonstrates the commercial strength of our platform at a time when EV adoption and demand are accelerating across the UK,” Kunkel stated, emphasizing the importance of stable government support in infrastructure investment.
A Defining Moment for EV Charging
As noted by Andy Matthews, Chief Investment Officer at Infracapital, achieving EBITDA positivity at scale is a pivotal development—not only for GRIDSERVE but also for the EV charging industry as a whole. The success underscores how patient, long-term capital can effectively address national needs while driving commercial success. Jamie Gilbert, Business Unit Partner at TPG Rise Climate, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the increasing demand for quality EV charging infrastructure.
Overall, GRIDSERVE’s strides signify hope for the future of electric vehicle adoption, indicating a robust and reliable network of charging stations that will be crucial for supporting the UK's environmental goals and facilitating a greener transportation system.
