Global Spirit of Kindness Shines on Good Deeds Day 2026
On April 12, 2026, the world united in kindness as 115 countries participated in International Good Deeds Day, a celebration that has been growing for the past two decades. Initiated in Israel by businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison, this event highlights the importance of volunteerism and positive actions in communities across the globe.
A Tradition of Generosity
With the key message of "United in Good – 20 Years of Doing Good from the Heart," Good Deeds Day promotes the idea that every individual has the power to contribute positively to society, regardless of the size of the action. From preparing meals for the elderly in the United States to environmental cleanups in Cambodia, the diversity of projects demonstrates an inspiring global commitment to bettering one another's lives.
A Worldwide Movement
In Jamaica, Poland, the UK, Malawi, and many other nations, thousands of participants engaged in various activities aimed at uplifting their communities. In Malawi, volunteers visited elderly citizens, while in Mongolia, more than 25,000 people joined in projects that encouraged acts of kindness. This year, Haiti expanded its participation to 13 cities, impacting the lives of over 13,000 individuals through healthcare initiatives and women's empowerment programs.
Stronger Together
Arison expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the global response, stating, "Seeing it globally has really touched my heart." The positive impact of these efforts not only transforms communities but also fosters a sense of connection and shared responsibility among participants. As Arison noted, the enthusiasm for Good Deeds Day continues to grow, exemplifying the enduring spirit of generosity and compassion.
