Get Ready for a Weekend of Laughter at Manchester's A Lovely Weekend Festival!

Manchester is set to host a spectacular comedy festival that promises to bring joy and laughter to attendees this coming May. The A Lovely Weekend festival will take place at the Fairfield Social Club, situated in the vibrant Red Bank neighbourhood. This esteemed event, now in its fourth year, will run from May 29 to 31, featuring over 20 shows across three days.

A Star-Studded Line-Up

Fans of comedy can look forward to seeing some of the industry's brightest stars, such as Harriet Kemsley, known for her role in the hit series Last One Laughing UK, and Mark Silcox from the BBC’s Man Like Mobeen. Joining them will be Scottish comedian Larry Dean, recently announced for Saturday Night Live UK, as well as internet sensation Tom Lawrinson and acclaimed comedian Josh Pugh. The festival will even host the debut live performance of Sean McLoughlin's popular podcast, Sean McTalk, adding a unique touch to the event.

A Platform for New Talent

The A Lovely Weekend festival is not only about established names; it also provides a platform for emerging comedians. Several performances will showcase 'work in progress' shows, allowing attendees to enjoy fresh material before it hits the larger tour circuit. This opportunity to witness the development of new talent is one of the festival's standout features.

Community Engagement and Inclusivity

With the support of local businesses like Found and the alcohol-free brewery BRULO, the festival aims to highlight the charm of the surrounding neighbourhoods. Gemma Price, Managing Director of Found, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are delighted to sponsor A Lovely Weekend. We pride ourselves on driving awareness of our incredible neighbourhoods, which offer an exciting yet undiscovered experience compared to other areas of the city.”

Festival producer John Stansfield believes this event will be memorable for all: “It’s going to be a heck of a lovely time and, speaking personally, it’s my favourite weekend of the year!” Tickets for the full weekend, which includes breakfast and a drink each day, are priced at £80, and individual performances can also be purchased separately.

In conclusion, A Lovely Weekend is shaping up to be a highlight on Manchester's cultural calendar. Comedy fans and newcomers alike will have the chance to enjoy both seasoned performers and groundbreaking acts, fostering a sense of community and shared joy in the heart of the city.
