Get Ready for a Celebration of Goodwill at the Midsummer Beer Happening!
The upcoming Midsummer Beer Happening in Stonehaven promises not only a fantastic experience for beer enthusiasts but also a significant contribution to local charitable causes. Scheduled from June 11 to June 13, this vibrant event will take place in Baird Park and is set to support around 20 local charities, making it a true celebration of community spirit.
Cheers to Charitable Support
One of the standout features of the Midsummer Beer Happening is its commitment to giving back. Among the main beneficiaries are the town's renowned Fireballs Ceremony, the Stonehaven Men’s Shed, and the Stonehaven Sea Cadets. Additional support will extend to organizations such as the Air Cadets, local Guides and Scouts, and the favored Land Train, among many others.
A Rich Legacy of Giving
Since its inception in 2009, originally as the Stonehaven Real Ale Festival, the Happening has raised an impressive £428,000 for various local causes. According to festival manager Robert Lindsay, the event aims to not only provide enjoyment for its 6,000 expected visitors but also to create a lasting impact on the community: "It’s all about making our visitors feel good while benefiting Stonehaven." This ethos highlights the importance of volunteer work and community engagement, demonstrating how local efforts can effect real change.
An Abundance of Beer and Music
Visitors can look forward to over 120 unique beer offerings from top breweries across Scotland and Belgium, brilliantly complementing a diverse selection of award-winning street food. Musically, the event will feature talented local musicians providing a variety of genres—from jazz to rock—setting a lively atmosphere for patrons. Additionally, the event will include a cycling sportive, showcasing more ways for the community to engage in this three-day celebration.
Community and Sponsorship
The smooth execution of the Happening is greatly attributed to the local community's backing. Robert expresses gratitude for the volunteers, sponsors, and attendees who all contribute to its success. Notable sponsors this year include Deeside Timberframe, The Bay Fish and Chips, and EnerQuip, among others, further illustrating the collective effort that empowers this remarkable event.
