Exeter's Feel Good Festival: A Free Community Celebration of Wellbeing!
This Saturday, May 16th, the community of Exeter is set to host the vibrant Feel Good Festival, a joyous occasion focused on health, wellness, and bringing people together. Set at the Wonford Community and Learning Centre from 11 AM to 2 PM, this event promises to be an exciting opportunity for residents of all ages to engage in fun activities that promote overall wellbeing.
Celebrating Community Spirit
Organized by the community group Wonford Health Matters, the festival aims to foster connections among locals while providing various activities to enhance mental and physical health. Thanks to a generous £900 grant from the Exeter City Council, the festival is free for all attendees, allowing the community to come together without financial barriers.
A Day Full of Activities
The Feel Good Festival will feature a plethora of activities including guided walks, exercise classes, face painting, and even a bouncy castle. Attendees can partake in taster sessions, demonstrations, and learn about the five ways to wellbeing: connecting, being active, learning, giving, and taking notice. The festival aims to showcase how community engagement and participating in these activities can significantly improve one's mental health.
Inspiring Health and Wellness
In addition to recreational fun, the festival will host information sessions from various groups offering support on how to connect with others, appreciate nature, and maintain wellness. There will also be opportunities to try out new sports and enjoy performances in dance and singing, making it a truly uplifting experience for everyone involved.
The Feel Good Festival exemplifies the essence of community support and collective happiness, promising to leave all participants with positive memories and the motivation to continue their wellbeing journey.
