Exciting Times Ahead: Oasis Academy Temple Quarter Thrives in Bristol
A new beacon of educational excellence is emerging in Bristol as Oasis Academy Temple Quarter impresses Ofsted inspectors just months after its opening. Established in September 2023, the school is currently operating out of a temporary facility in Bedminster, but plans are already underway for a large permanent campus set to open in 2027.
Positive Feedback and Early Achievements
The Ofsted report commended the academy for meeting the expected standards in six critical areas, including curriculum and teaching and personal development and wellbeing. Inspectors highlighted the school's positive culture, where pupils actively contribute and embody the institution's values, such as compassion and respect.
A Commitment to Excellence
Richard James, Principal of Oasis Academy Temple Quarter, expressed pride in the recognition the school has received, emphasizing that the feedback is a testament to the dedication of the students, staff, and families involved. With a current enrollment of 278 pupils across Year 7 to Year 9, the academy is already fostering an environment where students can thrive academically and socially.
A Bright Future with Expanded Capacity
Once completed, the permanent campus will have a capacity to serve 1,600 students, meeting a long-standing demand for secondary education in the Bristol area. This initiative comes after a decade of advocacy by the community for more educational opportunities, particularly in neighborhoods such as Barton Hill, Easton, and St Jude's.
Building Community and Confidence
The philosophy at Oasis Academy Temple Quarter extends beyond academics, focusing on nurturing social skills and building confidence among students. The report notes that pupils show great pride in their school and approach interactions with adults respectfully, reflecting a strong foundation for personal development.
As the academy looks ahead, there is a palpable excitement about the positive trajectory the school is on. With its commitment to providing an excellent education, Oasis Academy Temple Quarter is not just shaping its students’ futures, but also building a stronger community in Bristol.
