Exciting New Child Care Facility Set to Open in Bend, Oregon!

In a substantial boost for local families, Sprouts Montessori of Bend has received a remarkable $719,200 grant aimed at establishing a state-of-the-art licensed child care facility for infants and toddlers. This funding will facilitate the opening of The Orchard Infant Nest, located on Northeast Revere Avenue in Bend.

A Statewide Initiative Supporting Child Care

This grant comes from the Child Care Infrastructure Fund, administered by Business Oregon, and is part of a larger $50 million investment made by the Oregon Legislature in 2023. The initiative aims to enhance child care facilities throughout the state, ensuring that more families have access to safe and nurturing environments for their young children.

Plans for The Orchard Infant Nest

The new facility, set to open later this spring, will accommodate 24 infants and toddlers aged between 6 weeks and 24 months. The project will not only involve acquiring property, but also installing a secure play area tailored for infants, along with essential interior renovations to support educational activities.

Health and Nutrition at the Forefront

Sharon Richardson, the owner of Montessori of Bend, expressed her gratitude for the significant state support. She highlighted the program's focus on nutritious meals, stating, "We are also excited to feed more children! Our food program is a core part of our school." The center plans to provide three meals and two snacks each day, aligning with its mission to foster healthy growth and development.

Spanish Immersion and Family Flexibility

The Orchard Infant Nest will additionally operate as a Spanish immersion program, offering an exceptional educational environment for families seeking bilingual learning opportunities for their children. The facility's operating hours are designed to cater to the diverse schedules of today’s families, providing both flexible part-time and full-time options.
