Exciting Future Awaits: Oasis Academy Temple Quarter Receives High Praise from Ofsted

A new beacon of education in Bristol, Oasis Academy Temple Quarter, has been commended by Ofsted inspectors, highlighting the school's positive culture and commitment to student development. Opened in September 2023, the academy is currently operating from a temporary location on Spring Street while preparations for its permanent campus are underway.

Strong Performance and Positive Environment

According to the recent Ofsted report, Oasis Academy Temple Quarter has met the 'expected standard' in all six evaluation categories: achievement, attendance and behavior, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing. This early recognition speaks volumes about the school's community and its approach towards education.

Students Thrive in a Supportive Atmosphere

The report highlights the nurturing environment that fosters a sense of belonging among students, encouraging them to exhibit the school’s core values. Commentary from Ofsted noted that "pupils benefit from, and contribute to, a highly positive culture in this new school," indicating the positive impacts of the school's culture on its students.

Principal Richard James expressed pride in the school's achievements, stating, "To receive positive feedback at such an early stage in our academy’s journey is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our whole community." This sentiment reflects the efforts made by the staff, students, and families to create a thriving educational space.

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, the permanent campus set for completion in 2027 is designed to accommodate 1,600 pupils, addressing the long-standing demand for educational places in the region. The academy aims to build on its successes and ensure that every child receives an excellent education, further solidifying its role as a significant educational institution in East Bristol.

As enrollment grows — currently with 278 pupils in Year 7 to Year 9 — the focus remains on fostering an inclusive and constructive learning environment that prepares students for future challenges and successes. The efforts of Oasis Community Learning, which oversees this and numerous other academies, show a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities across Bristol and beyond.
