Exciting Development: New Entertainment Venue Set to Transform Manchester!

In a unanimous decision, Manchester councillors have approved plans for a state-of-the-art 600-person capacity entertainment venue at the Etihad Campus. This development marks a significant milestone for the city, promising to bolster Manchester's reputation as a vibrant destination for culture and entertainment.

A Hub of Entertainment and Employment

The newly approved venue is part of the ambitious £300 million Medlock Square project, which aims to create a year-round hub for leisure activities, dining, and entertainment. Alongside features such as bars and restaurants, the development will also include unique attractions like a sky-walk providing stunning views of the Manchester skyline and even a zip-wire.

This initiative is expected to create approximately 150 permanent jobs, alongside 100 construction jobs, contributing a Gross Value Added (GVA) of around £18 million to the local economy. The emphasis on local hiring, through a Labour agreement, will ensure that residents benefit directly from these opportunities.

Enhancing Community Experience

The new venue is not just an architectural feat; it is designed to enhance the community’s experience when attending events at the nearby Etihad Stadium and Co-op Live. With an estimated 15 arena and match days each year, city planners are prioritizing public transport and sustainable travel options to accommodate the anticipated influx of visitors.

As Manchester continues to grow, this project stands out as a beacon of innovation and community-focused development. It reflects the city’s commitment to providing high-quality entertainment while ensuring that local residents can enjoy the benefits of this thriving cultural landscape.
