Exciting Community Events: Hull's Pub to Pub Walk and Tinsel Tree Trot Raise Funds for Local Causes

This summer, the beloved Pub to Pub Walk is making a grand return, promising a delightful day for participants while supporting local charities. Scheduled for June 6, this event, organized by Dove House Hospice, encourages walkers to explore the scenic East Yorkshire countryside while enjoying a social outing with friends and family.

Join the Fun on the Pub to Pub Walk

The walk kicks off at the Wetherspoon Sanctuary Bar at Hull University Students’ Union, featuring a challenging yet accessible point-to-point route of over 11 miles. Walkers will pass through picturesque landscapes and historic villages, with the chance to take breaks at six local pubs along the way. Dan Clipson, a senior fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, expressed excitement about the event's continued popularity, stating that it has become a staple in the community calendar.

To participate, walkers can register for £20 and are encouraged to raise at least £30 in sponsorship for their chosen causes. Each participant will receive a special T-shirt and goodie bag, making the experience even more memorable as they support vital local initiatives.

Tinsel Tree Trot: A Record-Breaking Fundraiser

In addition to the upcoming walk, the Tinsel Tree Trot has proven to be a remarkable success, raising an impressive £72,935.76 so far through sponsored runs involving over 12,000 children from 66 schools across Hull and East Yorkshire. This festive fundraiser, held in December, not only brought the community together but also heightened awareness about the important work of Dove House Hospice.

Dan Clipson emphasized gratitude towards the schools and students for their partnership and dedication. The energetic participants, adorned in Christmas hats, made this year’s Tinsel Tree Trot the most successful initiative of its kind for the hospice to date, with expectations to surpass the £75,000 mark once all funds are accounted for.

These events exemplify community spirit and the collective effort to support local causes, showcasing how uplifting activities can make a significant impact. For those interested in joining the Pub to Pub Walk, registration details can be found on the Dove House website, presenting a great opportunity to engage with the community while promoting a noble cause.
