In a remarkable advancement for agricultural practices in rural KwaZulu-Natal, Emseni Farming has inaugurated its new state-of-the-art packhouse. Emseni, initially established in 1969 as a small vegetable garden initiative, has evolved into one of South Africa's most diversified agricultural projects. The recently opened packhouse covers an impressive 15,000 square meters and boasts advanced features like strong natural insulation and an efficient cool room that can cater to various temperature requirements. This ensures quality preservation of avocados and other produce.

The new facility is equipped with cutting-edge sorting technology that allows for a staggering speed of 12 cups per second and a capacity of 36 tons per hour for avocados. These innovations not only improve operational efficiency but also prepare Emseni for future growth. Farm manager Dietmar Joosten emphasized that this facility is crucial for upgrading machinery and enhancing overall productivity, ultimately benefiting the community.
