A new market research study has identified the best vegan cities in the UK, showcasing a flourishing culinary landscape that caters to plant-based diets. Conducted by SIXT, this study analyzed various factors, including tourist search volumes for vegan options and the number of vegetarian restaurants, to determine which cities stand out as the best for vegans.

The Top Vegan Cities in the UK

The study places London at the top of the list, celebrated for its vibrant vegan food scene. However, it’s not just the capital that is excelling in this area. Bristol has emerged as the best city for vegans outside London, boasting over 50 restaurants with outstanding Google reviews. Edinburgh secures its place as the best Scottish city for vegans, while Manchester claims the title for northern cities.

Wakefield: A Hidden Gem

Among the noteworthy mentions is Wakefield, which, despite its smaller size, ranks as the third-best city for vegans per capita. With an impressive 127.88 vegan restaurants available for every 100,000 residents, and nearly half of those establishments rated five stars or higher, Wakefield is capturing the attention of plant-based travelers as a hidden treasure.

The study also recognized the global vegan cities, with London leading yet again, followed closely by New York City, Berlin, and others. This recognition emphasizes the UK’s significant role in the international vegan movement, further enhancing the appeal of cities embracing plant-based dining.

As the demand for vegan options continues to rise, cities like Bristol, Edinburgh, and Wakefield are paving the way for future growth in the culinary landscape.
