Discover the Joyful Spring Adventures at Dunham Massey!

As the warmer months approach, Dunham Massey presents an exciting array of activities that beckon families and individuals seeking a meaningful escape into nature. With its spring and summer programme, the National Trust estate is all set to cater to different interests while showcasing the beauty of its spectacular grounds.

Fun for the Whole Family

This weekend marks the launch of the Easter Adventures trail, running until April 19. Designed for family fun, this engaging experience features ten points around the estate, encouraging visitors to explore while enjoying activities suitable for all ages. Participants can look forward to receiving a trail sheet, a bunny eraser, and a delicious chocolate or free-from egg, all for a nominal fee of £3.50 in addition to admission costs.

Musical Mondays Bring Harmony to the Gardens

In a delightful initiative during the May bank holidays, 'Musical Mondays' will offer visitors the chance to relax amid live music performances on the formal lawn. This calming atmosphere is set to be created by Medieval Jukebox, who play enchanting sounds from the harp and dulcimer. Scheduled at noon, 1 PM, and 2 PM, these concerts promise to uplift the spirits of all who attend.

A Summer of Play and Cultural Exploration

The summer season will promise even more excitement with a 'summer of play' programme, starting on July 10 and continuing until September 6. Daily activities will include picnics in the garden, opportunities to learn circus skills or dance, and a variety of crafts. Visitors can also indulge in a 'slow-looking experience' with Rembrandt’s famous self-portrait available for viewing from March 27 to July 12, allowing art lovers to engage deeply with this masterpiece.

A Treasure for All Ages

Katie Clayton, the visitor experience and programming manager, encapsulates the essence of Dunham Massey perfectly: “Around half a million visitors every year tell us that there’s lots of love for days out at Dunham Massey. That’s why we’ve built a bustling and varied programme of events - it’s a wonderful place that should be enjoyed in many ways, by everyone.” The estate continually strives to provide enriching experiences for families and individuals alike, with something for everyone, and is open daily.
