Discover the Joy of Reading: A Unique Treasure Hunt in Bolton!

This week, the sun has shone down on Bolton, setting the perfect backdrop for a delightful community event known as "Look for a Book." With the local weather encouraging outdoor exploration, the Bolton Library Services have launched an engaging initiative that combines reading, music, and family fun.

Join the Search for Hidden Literary Gems

In a wonderful twist on traditional book promotions, the library is hiding copies of Corinne Bailey Rae's picture book, "Put Your Records On," across various locations in Bolton. This beautiful book celebrates the joy of music, family, and uplifting moments, making it a perfect choice for readers of all ages.

Each day at 10 am, until Sunday, the library takes to social media, revealing hints about hiding spots on their Facebook page. With a total of 45 books waiting to be found, there are ample opportunities for book lovers and families to partake in this exciting literary treasure hunt.

Win a Special Meet and Greet!

To add to the excitement, those who discover a book can share their find with the library for a chance to win a special prize: an opportunity to meet the esteemed author, Corinne Bailey Rae, in person. This adds a thrilling element to the hunt, inspiring children and adults alike to engage with literature in meaningful and memorable ways.

As part of the upcoming Festival of Libraries 2026, this initiative highlights the importance of reading in our communities and encourages families to explore the joys of books together. For those interested in participating, emails can be sent to askboltonlibraries@bolton.gov.uk or visits can be made to the nearest Bolton library to report their discoveries.

Good Luck to All Participants!

This unique endeavor not only promotes reading and family bonding but also fosters a spirit of exploration and community engagement. As the residents of Bolton search for these hidden treasures, we hope they find not just books, but also a renewed appreciation for the literary arts. Happy hunting!
