Mónica Calabria, from Las Tijeras de Mónica, also epitomizes the spirit of recycling and creativity. She skillfully transforms discarded garments into delightful dolls and plush toys. Her unique creations, made from pajamas and blankets, have captured the attention of not only local patrons but also international visitors who come searching for her handmade products at various fairs. "We have clients who have been seeking us out at every trade fair since 2019," she notes proudly.
Celebrating Unique Techniques and Crafts
The craft fair highlights both innovative practices and traditional techniques. Esther Silvia Rodríguez showcases her expertise in batik, crafting intricate textile fans that merge contemporary design with traditional Canarian elements. Her detailed process involves a painstaking method requiring four days to complete each piece, epitomizing the dedication these artisans have for their work.

This year’s fair has notably attracted an international audience. Visitors like Janas and Anika from Germany express their appreciation for local crafts and the interesting aspects of recycling materials. “It's great, plus many of them recycle materials; I find it very interesting,” says Janas, reflecting a growing trend of supporting small businesses and sustainable practices.

Crochet artisan Paola Farina embodies this spirit, learning her craft from her grandmother and now aspiring to focus solely on her passion.
