Discover the Exciting Wandsworth Wellness Weekender: A Community Celebration of Health!

The Wandsworth Wellness Weekender is set to bring an uplifting experience to the borough on March 21 and 22, 2026. This event promises a weekend full of free, inclusive, and beginner-friendly activities aimed at encouraging residents to engage with their health and well-being.

An Array of Activities for Everyone

Taking place across various leisure centers, sports venues, and community spaces, the Wellness Weekender will feature an extensive timetable of activities suitable for all ages and abilities. From padel and pan-disability football to pilates, beach volleyball, and parent-and-baby cycling, there’s something for everyone. Participants can explore these activities in a welcoming environment, perfect for trying out something new and building confidence.

Empowering Women and Girls

This year, the initiative places a particular emphasis on women and girls, with an expanded program of women-only sessions. These offerings aim to create a supportive space where female participants can feel comfortable and empowered as they explore new physical pursuits. Paul White, Cabinet Member for Environment, expressed his enthusiasm: "Wandsworth Wellness Weekender is back for 2026, helping everyone discover local opportunities to feel confident getting active."

More Free Opportunities Await

The Wellness Weekender is not alone in its mission to engage the community; accompanying it is "The Beat Goes On," a vibrant celebration of music and movement at Battersea Power Station. This event, marking the conclusion of Wandsworth’s year as the London Borough of Culture, aims to bring people together for an energetic and enjoyable experience.

Join the Fun and Benefit from Offers

In addition to free activities, participating leisure centers will waive joining fees for memberships, offering free assessments and introductory benefits to new members. Residents can take advantage of these offers by visiting their local center on the event days, thus encouraging ongoing participation in community health initiatives.

Health Services and Support

The Health Bus will also be available during the weekend, providing free health and well-being support in collaboration with Generate’s Easy Health website. Residents can find the Health Bus at key locations, equipped with trained staff ready to offer advice and essential health checks.

Get Involved!

Wandsworth is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for all its residents, especially women and girls, through initiatives like the Women and Girls Working Group. This group works to design an action plan that continues to build on the successes and address gaps in promoting physical activity.

Residents interested in learning more or participating can check eligibility for the Access for All scheme, which offers various discounts and free access to leisure activities year-round. This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, engage in healthy activities, and foster a sense of camaraderie and support.
