Dalmellington Primary School Celebrates Outstanding Achievements and Recognition

Dalmellington Primary School and Early Childhood Centre is in high spirits after receiving a stellar inspection report from Education Scotland, showcasing their commitment to fostering an environment of respect, responsibility, and happiness among students. The inspection, conducted over a week in March, highlighted numerous strengths of the institution, including engaged learners who confidently share their accomplishments.

A Gold Standard in Children's Rights

In a remarkable turn of events, shortly after the positive inspection results were released, the school was awarded the Gold: Rights Respecting Award by UNICEF. This prestigious accolade signifies that the school has successfully embedded the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into its ethos and curriculum, making it one of only 11 primary schools in East Ayrshire to achieve this honor.

Community Acknowledgment and Team Spirit

Local officials, including Councillor Jim Kyle and Quality Improvement Manager Derek Forsyth, visited the school to congratulate Headteacher Laura Clapperton and her dedicated team.
