Community Spirit Shines Bright in Henley's Joint Easter Service

This past Good Friday, the Market Place in Henley-on-Thames witnessed a remarkable display of unity and faith as congregations from five different churches came together for a joint open-air service. This event, which celebrated the day Jesus died on the cross, not only reinforced the local community's spirit but also highlighted the growing inclusivity within religious practices.

A Celebration of Diversity

Led by Rev. Sam Brewster of Trinity Church, the service saw dozens of worshippers from Holy Trinity, St Mary’s, Sacred Heart, Henley Baptist, and Christ Church partake in a meaningful gathering that included prayers, readings, and songs. Rev. Brewster emphasized the importance of the public nature of the event, stating, “Jesus said, ‘When I’m lifted up, I’ll draw all kinds of people to myself.’” This sentiment was echoed by Pastor Jeremy Bray, who reflected on the diverse attendance and a cultural shift among the youth towards faith.
