Community Champions Recognized: Celebrating Selflessness in East Dunbartonshire

In a heartwarming event, six residents of East Dunbartonshire have been honored as community champions, showcasing the spirit of selflessness and commitment to bettering their neighborhoods. The Provost's Community Champion Awards 2025 were established to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions through volunteering, fundraising, and other altruistic efforts.
Recognizing Outstanding Contributions
The awards ceremony took place following a detailed judging process led by Provost Gillian Renwick and Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid. This initiative aimed to shine a spotlight on the everyday heroes who work tirelessly for the community. The champions recognized include Arts & Heritage Champion Craig Taylor, Caring Champion Debbie Ritchie, Community Champion Seamus Harkin, Sports Champion Stuart Strawhorn, Sustainability Champion Denis Bell, and Young Champion Anna Phin.
