Central Texas Unites to Honor Music Legend and Support Veterans

The recent memorial and benefit held by the Music Association of Central Texas (MACT) showcased the deep appreciation the community has for Thomas “Top” Clark, an influential figure in the local music scene who passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. The event, held at VFW Post 6008, not only celebrated Clark’s life but also served a greater purpose—supporting his wife, Tamra, in their time of need.

Thomas Clark, well-known in Central Texas for his dedication to promoting live music and local musicians, was an inspiring leader. James Stone, the current president of MACT, highlighted Clark's significant contributions during a period of stagnancy in the region's music scene. "If he hadn't been around, there wouldn't be a music association anymore," shared Stone, reflecting on Clark's unwavering commitment to the arts.

In addition to his role in music, Clark was a passionate advocate for veterans. His initiative, Guitars for Vets, was designed to help veterans suffering from PTSD channel their challenges into music.
