Celebrating Extraordinary Talent: The Dyslexia Awards Open Nominations for 2026

This autumn, the West Midlands will host an exciting event dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the remarkable achievements of individuals with dyslexia. The Dyslexia Awards, founded by Elizabeth Wilkinson MBE, has officially opened nominations, inviting educators, individuals, and businesses from across the UK to participate in this inspiring celebration.

New Categories Highlighting Diverse Talents

The upcoming awards will feature eight categories aimed specifically at dyslexics, acknowledging their varied talents and contributions. Among the new additions for 2026 is the STEMM Award, which aims to honor individuals over the age of 18 who have made significant impacts in fields such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine. Additionally, the Young Innovator Award will spotlight the creativity of young dyslexics aged 14 to 19.

A Focus on Achievement and Inspiration

Every ceremony of The Dyslexia Awards brings forth astonishing stories of talent and resilience that not only inspire the attendees but also encourage dyslexics to embrace their unique strengths. Elizabeth Wilkinson emphasizes the importance of appropriate teaching and support, stating, “With appropriate teaching and the encouragement to follow their dreams and strengths, dyslexics can and do succeed in all walks of life and professions.”

Growing Recognition of Dyslexic Individuals

Originally starting as a regional initiative in Shropshire, The Dyslexia Awards have transformed into a nationally recognized event, shedding light on the accomplishments of dyslexic individuals across the UK. Notable figures from various sectors are sharing their experiences, contributing to a more inclusive society, and empowering others within the dyslexic community.
