Now in its 13th year, this awards scheme, organized by the New Forest National Park Authority and the Country Land and Business Association (CLA), highlights the positive impacts made by individuals who go above and beyond for their community.

The awards serve as an excellent opportunity to acknowledge those whose dedication helps shape and sustain the New Forest, a region known for its exceptional natural landscape. Alison Barnes, chief executive of the New Forest National Park Authority, emphasizes the importance of these awards, stating, "This is a valuable opportunity to recognise the people whose dedication helps shape and sustain this extraordinary place."

Categories Highlighting Various Contributions

This year’s award categories include Sustainability Champion, Young Farmer (aged 35 and under), Best Supporter of Local Produce, Young Environmental Champion (aged 25 and under), Farming and Nature Champion, and Commoning Champion. Notably, anyone from the community may submit nominations, including self-nominations, as long as the nominees reside, work, or operate within the New Forest Awards area.

Anticipation for the Ceremony

Tim Bamford, regional director of CLA South East, expressed pride in the ongoing celebration of local champions saying, "The New Forest is unique, and these well-established awards champion the very best across our rural community and economy." The winners will be announced at a special ceremony coinciding with the New Forest and Hampshire County Show in July, promising to be a celebration of local excellence and community spirit.
