Celebrate Success: Bolton's Inspiring Women in Business Awards

The city of Bolton recently hosted the fourth annual Women in Business Awards, an event dedicated to recognizing and honoring outstanding female entrepreneurs and business leaders. Held on March 28 at the BWFC Premier Suite, the sold-out ceremony was a vibrant celebration of women's contributions to entrepreneurship, leadership, and community impact.

A Night of Recognition

With over 2,000 nominations submitted, the awards ceremony underscored the remarkable achievements of women across various sectors. The event's founder, Anita McKay, expressed her awe at the event's success, saying, "I am blown away by the event this year...to be a finalist and a winner is a huge achievement." The evening marked a significant occasion, not only for the awardees but for the entire Bolton community, which came together to honor their achievements.

Highlighting Outstanding Achievements

Among the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, which was awarded to Sital Arjan Raja MBE for her exceptional contributions to Bolton's business landscape. This recognition serves as an inspiration for current and future generations of women in business. Additionally, more than 30 awards were distributed to various recipients, including Sarah Hulme of Covem and Carrie Flitcroft of Shiny and New Cleaning Services, showcasing the diversity and talent present in the region's entrepreneurial community.

A Community Coming Together

The event, hosted by Maura Jackson, was not only a platform for recognition but also a celebration of community spirit. It featured live music and activities, including a charity raffle that raised over £1,000 for BACKUP North West, further cementing the commitment of Bolton's business leaders to give back to the community. Such events are crucial in fostering a sense of belonging and support within local enterprises.

Looking Ahead

As the Women in Business Awards continue to thrive, upcoming events such as the Men in Business Awards and the Health and Wellbeing Awards promise to keep the momentum going. With opportunities for future participation, including the newly launched Proper Northern Wedding Awards set to debut in 2026, the Bolton community is poised for continued growth and recognition in the realm of business.

The Women in Business Awards not only align with the goals of empowering women but also strengthen the local economy by highlighting the achievements and potential of female entrepreneurs. The celebration of such talent is essential for inspiring future leaders and fostering an inclusive business environment in Bolton.
