Casteledrg Celebrates the Grand Opening of a £3 Million Sporting Facility!

The people of Castlederg have reason to celebrate with the recent unveiling of a state-of-the-art sporting complex at Mitchell Park, a project that marks a significant milestone for the local community. Funded by the UK Government, this £3 million redevelopment offers various facilities aimed at enhancing the sporting culture in the area.

A Landmark Development for Local Sports

The new complex features a modern 3G playing pitch, suitable for competitive soccer matches at all levels, alongside a junior-sized GAA pitch and additional mini soccer pitches designed for youth football and recreational play. These facilities will serve as a much-needed resource for local sports clubs and teams.

Councillor Ruairí McHugh, who officiated the ceremony, emphasized the project's significance in fostering community spirit and promoting health and wellbeing through sport.
