The AA has inaugurated a new training academy in Basingstoke, marking a significant investment aimed at enhancing its patrol workforce. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide advanced training for roadside patrols and mobile mechanics, with the potential to accommodate around 50 trainees each month, depending on demand.

Spanning an impressive 15,521 square feet over two stories, the academy features an indoor workshop, training rooms, and collaborative spaces, all built with employee feedback to create a flexible and energy-efficient learning environment. Additionally, the site showcases part of the AA’s heritage fleet and archives, merging contemporary training with a celebration of the organization’s long-standing history.

Dean Keeling, managing director of AA Roadside Services, emphasized that this new academy is pivotal in accelerating the learning experience for new recruits and current employees looking to advance in their careers. He mentioned plans for further enhancements at the Oldbury site underlining the company's ongoing commitment to workforce development.
