Alondwe's saga first came to light in March this year, when the world learned about his courageous battle against his condition. With the help of the Angel Network Durban, as well as medical professionals from Netcare Umhlanga and Albert Luthuli hospitals, a community mobilized to provide the young boy the surgery he desperately needed. Their efforts paid off in June, when he finally received the surgery that would change his life.

Recently, the Angel Network Durban shared uplifting news that Alondwe is recovering remarkably well. He can now walk on both feet and wear closed shoes, a monumental milestone for a boy who had faced limitations due to his condition. “We’re overjoyed to share that brave little Alondwe is making amazing progress! His facial cyst has healed wonderfully and is much smaller,” stated the charity, bringing tears of joy to those who have followed his journey.
